  I’ve used Point S in Blackfoot frequently since moving here and was happy when they matched a dealer’s price for a transmission and transfer case service. That changed after a recent tire rotation: staff asked for the wheel lock key (something they’ve never requested before) and told me they would “charge an hour’s labor and cut the locks off” if I didn’t provide it. I dropped the vehicle off around 3:40–3:45 pm and it was finished by about 4:20 pm; when I asked if more than one person had worked on it, I was told it was just one technician, yet I was still billed for a full hour with the explanation, “That’s just the cost.” I also helped a colleague bring her 5th-wheel trailer in for tire and bearing service and asked to be contacted with an estimate before any work began. She received a call quoting about $750, and then ten minutes later another call saying the trailer was ready for pickup. That indicates the service was already started without our approval. If we had accepted the estimate, we would have had no opportunity to confirm or decline before work was completed. Between the unexpected labor charge and the decision to proceed without authorization, I no longer trust Point S in Blackfoot and will be taking my business elsewhere.

  I took my van to Point S to switch out my tires about a month ago. I had to go back two other times due to tires going flat within a week of getting it back. The first time, they hadn't sealed the tire correctly to the rim. The second time was a bad stem. They took care of those with no issue, and I was happy with their service. It's been a month since I took it in. Two weeks ago, my van started making a horrible noise. We thought it was the tie rods because they are worn and need to be replaced. Today, my child found a bolt on the ground by our car, and another bolt was completely loose. Upon inspection, a lot of the bolts were loose or not correctly tightened. Once we tightened the bolts correctly, the noise was gone. Point S put my family at risk. We are more than lucky that my tire didn't fall off while driving with my 4 kids. I get things happen, but I am unimpressed and wont be back to Point s. If they can't do something as simple as tighten tire bolts correctly, what else are they missing or doing incorrectly?

  We had a car breakdown near Blackfoot, Idaho while we were on our way from Utah to Chewelah, WA. Everyplace we tried to get help in Blackfoot pretty much told us to get lost or come back in a week. The Les Schwab tire place told us to try Point S. Michael Nalley, the manager at Point S took us right in. The replacement part had to overnight from Salt Lake City. Michael helped us find a place to stay overnight and gave us a ride to the motel. The friendly crew at Point S quickly fixed the problem the next morning after the part arrived. Mike and his crew were so nice and friendly to us and their work is excellent. We are so grateful for their help and service.
