I recently had my first experience renting with Sixt, and I can honestly say it was a total game-changer! From start to finish, the process was incredibly smooth and professional. I arrived earlier than expected, and Dane at the front counter was absolutely wonderful—he was super friendly and went out of his way to accommodate my early arrival, getting me into a fantastic car right away. He took the time to explain everything clearly, making the whole transaction feel simple and stress-free. I’ve used many of the other major car rental brands in the past, but this was by far the best experience I’ve had to date. Between the high-quality vehicle and the top-tier customer service from Dane, Sixt has definitely earned a repeat customer. Highly recommend!

EDIT: Jean I appreciate the response (your team - Kandin, Matthew, Dane, Leland did not respond to emails). This does not however make amends for leaving me stranded with 2 kids roughly ~2 hours before landing in HNL. Sixt should be planning for reservations made and honor or front the cost for not honoring. Is there going to be an attempt to rectify this or was your teams' email highlighting compensation just talk?
Reserved a vehicle for vacation 3+ months in advance. During my flight to Hawaii ~2 hours before landing with my family and 2 toddlers, Sixt emails me saying my reservation can’t be fulfilled.
I was upset but still flexible - I said hey, what cars do you have? I don’t need the SUV I booked but I’d be open to options that fit my stroller. Sixt responds they have no cars and offers a car in 2 days with compensation.
At this point, no cars are available on a 2 hour notice and our hotel on the North Shore essentially requires a rental car to get around. I was forced into paying $500 more for a last minute rental and cab fare getting there.
Was there a car available from Sixt in 2 days? No. They stopped responding entirely and of course provided no compensation. Zero stars if I could.

Had the easiest best experience at Sixt Honolulu Airport location. Jeanine was so sweet and friendly and very helpful with I picked up my car. The car I originally reserved wasn’t available so I had a couple of choices to choose from, no big deal I understand sometimes these things happen. I had the car for 24 hours and hated it! I went back to exchange the car and Keanu was kind and understanding! Never made me feel like I was asking for too much and reassured me that they would take care of it. Keanu and Jeanine worked together to secure me the car I wanted. The whole experience was so seamless and I was out of there with the car I wanted in less than 7 minutes!!! Thank you so much to Jeanine and Keanu for being so awesome and assisting me with my rental experience! I’m definitely only renting from Sixt going forward for all my car rentals going forward because of this as amazing experience I received!!

UPDATE: If you are so concerned, why dont you just refund me?
Quite a dishonest company. I booked a car with them on the morning of needing it (so in no way did i string them along, they already had a car available, and i wanted to pick up 5-6hrs later) then literally an hour after booking and about 4 hours before pick up my child suddenly got ill and i ad to cut our oahu exploration down. I called Sixt to cancel and was on hold 3-4 times, one time it was 45mins with noone picking up. Finally someone picked up and said that they cant cancel it for me because i booked this through Expedia, and i have to call them. But at this point they know i will not be picking up the car. I then call Expedia (who also behaved inparopriately, but they are a large corporation so its almost expected) - Expedia's website says i am to contact Sixt, Sixt says i am to contact Expedia. I believe this is done on purpose to make sure its as difficult as possible to cancel. Long story short, Expedia said they will send a request to Sixt, and Sixt took 14 days to respond with a rejection of a full refund. They took ONE WEEK of rental money, even though my reservation said its refundable and cancellation fees apply. They said because i didnt 'show up' - they are taking the money. The fact that i called, or the fact that they took 2 weeks to respond - doenst matter. I.e had they responded ON THE DAY OF when i called them - i could have driven there and 'showed up' - but instead they sent me on a wild goose chase and took my money in full, without an oportunity to allow me to use the car. Because if they said no right away, i could have still picked up the car and used it for purposes other than my trip. Now this is being disputed with my CC company. BEWARE.

We did not even get to our destination and had a terrible experience with their customer service team. We rented a premium elite suv with space for 7 people in advance. I made a 30 minute change to our pickup time based on our flight and it automatically changed to a smaller car, that would not fit our family, and when I called the woman working in reservations said that she was not able to make reservations and they did not have another vehicle. They showed on their site, a Tahoe and a Surbabun were available, but she refused to book them stating the were not any cars available. She instructed us that we needed to go to the desk when we arrive and see if they would have a car available. That is not how reservations work. I emailed customer service and they blamed it on me, offered no help or solutions. I would not recommend them and based on reviews of how they try to add extra charges I am glad we went back to Avis. I know car rentals can be a pain but there lack of courtesy to make it right or assist was not acceptable.
