  Earl the technician on the Water Ave store was so helpful when entering the store with a low tire pressure. He found what caused the tire to be low . He fixed the tire and me on my way to work. I’m so appreciative.

  Competent technician, but concerning company practices and inflated pricing. I met with Hunter at the Mavis on Waters Avenue after visiting several other Savannah locations that failed to resolve a tire issue. Hunter was the first person who actually demonstrated solid mechanical knowledge he inspected the vehicle, correctly diagnosed the problem, and proposed a reasonable fix: replacing the rear tires, moving those new ones to the front, rotating the existing good tires to the back, and performing an alignment. That part was handled professionally. However, during our conversation, Hunter stated that it is common business practice for Mavis to store tires for up to five years in climate-controlled storage and sell them as new. That admission is troubling, considering the tire at the center of my case was manufactured in 2021 but sold and installed as “new” in 2024, which contradicts standard industry disclosure expectations for aged inventory. Hunter did attempt to make the situation right by offering a $50 credit for the tire and a $50 credit for the alignment, but the total still came to about $500 ($414 after credits) far above what entry-level tires and an alignment typically cost in Savannah ($160–$190 per tire installed, $120–$150 alignment). While I genuinely appreciate Hunter’s professionalism and technical understanding, the experience highlights a larger concern: corporate policy appears to normalize selling years-old tires as new and leaves store managers with limited power to make things right. This review is part of my ongoing case with Mavis corporate compliance. If they resolve the issue transparently and fairly, I will update this review to reflect it.

  Stopped by today because my low tire pressure light came on. The man working the front desk was incredibly helpful. He mentioned that the cold weather may have caused the low pressure reading. He checked my pressures and filled my tires and determined they are safe. I’ll definitely return when I need tires.
