They are a scam. American Engines Installations in The Marrietta, GA location is posed as a DBA but they are not. There is no licensed certified mechanic. They will not even perform a vehicle diagnostic test. They never provided me the invoice to file any claim for consistent engine related problems. I suppose to have a LKQ manufactured engine. I have spent 2.5 years with unprofessional repairs for the same problems. The company is Toran Services, Inc not DBA American Engine Installations, owner,Tom Stokes.

Can a high-mileage engine be rebuilt?
Yes, a high-mileage engine can often be rebuilt, depending on its condition. Rebuilding an engine involves disassembling, inspecting, and replacing worn or damaged components such as pistons, valves, and bearings. If the engine block and other major parts are still in good condition, rebuilding can extend the engine’s life significantly and restore its performance. However, a professional inspection is necessary to assess whether rebuilding is a viable option. If you're concerned about your high-mileage engine, contact us today to schedule a thorough inspection and discuss your rebuilding options!
What is the difference between engine remanufacturing and engine rebuilding, and which is better?
Engine remanufacturing involves completely disassembling the engine, inspecting all parts, and replacing worn-out or damaged components with new or refurbished ones, effectively restoring the engine to like-new condition. In contrast, engine rebuilding typically involves repairing or replacing only the damaged or worn parts while reusing most of the original components.
Which option is better depends on the engine’s condition and your needs. If you're looking for a long-term solution with improved reliability and performance, remanufacturing might be the way to go. However, if you're looking for a more cost-effective option and the engine is still in relatively good condition, rebuilding can also be a great choice.
Contact us today for a professional evaluation, and let us help you decide the best option for your engine!
Is it worth replacing the engine in a car?
Whether it’s worth replacing the engine in your car depends on several factors, including the car’s age, overall condition, and the cost of the replacement. If the car has low mileage, is in good condition otherwise, and the cost of the engine replacement is reasonable compared to the vehicle's value, replacing the engine can be a smart investment. However, if the car is older, has significant rust or body damage, or the engine replacement cost is close to the value of the car, it may be more cost-effective to consider purchasing a new or used vehicle.
We can help you evaluate the condition of your car and provide guidance on whether an engine replacement is the best option. Contact us today to schedule an assessment!
Is it worth buying a used engine?
Buying a used engine can be a cost-effective solution if you're looking to replace a faulty engine without the high price tag of a new one. However, it's important to consider the engine's mileage, condition, and the reputation of the seller. While used engines can offer significant savings, they may come with limited warranties and potential hidden issues. It’s crucial to have a professional inspect the used engine before purchasing it to ensure it’s in good working condition.
If you're considering a used engine, we can help guide you through the process and ensure you make a smart investment. Contact us today to discuss your options and get expert advice!
Is a rebuilt engine as good as new?
A rebuilt engine can perform as well as a new one, but it depends on the quality of the rebuild and the condition of the original engine components. During a rebuild, worn or damaged parts are replaced or refurbished, and the engine is reassembled to meet factory specifications.
What should I do if I smell these six unusual odors in my car?
Unusual smells in your car can be a sign of potential problems that need immediate attention. Here’s what certain smells might mean:
Syrup (Sweet Smell): If you smell something sweet, it could indicate that your cooling system is leaking engine coolant. This can lead to overheating, so it’s important to get it checked out right away.
Rotten Eggs: A rotten egg smell is often caused by a malfunctioning catalytic converter, which may not be properly converting hydrogen sulfide in your exhaust to sulfur dioxide. This could affect your vehicle's emissions and performance.
Burning Carpet: This unpleasant smell can indicate brake trouble, such as worn-out brake pads or overheating brakes. It’s crucial to address this issue to ensure your safety on the road.
Burnt Rubber: A burnt rubber smell could be caused by friction, such as a loose hose rubbing against rotating parts or a slipped drive belt. This could lead to further damage if not addressed.
Hot Oil: The smell of hot oil may suggest an oil leak. If you notice smoke or oil on the ground, stop your engine immediately and check for leaks to avoid engine damage.
Gasoline: A strong gasoline odor could indicate a fuel leak, possibly from the fuel injector or tank. Since gasoline is highly combustible, it’s essential to have this checked immediately to avoid fire hazards.
If you notice any of these smells, don’t ignore them! Get your vehicle inspected by a professional to prevent further damage or safety risks. Contact us today to schedule a thorough inspection!
Can a damaged engine be repaired?
Whether a damaged engine can be repaired depends on the extent and type of damage. In many cases, if the damage is to specific components like the pistons, valves, or bearings, the engine can often be repaired or rebuilt. However, if the engine has sustained severe damage to major components like the engine block or crankshaft, repairs may be more complex or not cost-effective. In some cases, replacing the engine entirely may be a better option.
It’s important to have a professional inspect the engine to determine the best course of action. Contact us today for a thorough inspection and to discuss your repair options!
What are the signs that I need a water pump replacement for my engine?
The water pump is a critical component of your engine’s cooling system. If it fails, your engine can overheat, causing severe damage. Here are common signs that you may need a water pump replacement:
Engine Overheating: If your engine temperature is rising abnormally or your temperature gauge shows "hot," it could be a sign that the water pump is failing to circulate coolant properly.
Coolant Leaks: A puddle of coolant under your vehicle or visible coolant leakage around the water pump area may indicate a damaged or leaking water pump.
Whining or Grinding Noise: If you hear unusual whining or grinding sounds coming from the front of your engine, it could be the water pump bearings wearing out.
Visible Corrosion or Rust: Corrosion around the water pump or the presence of rust could indicate internal wear, suggesting the need for a replacement.
Steam or Overheating Indicators: If you notice steam coming from the engine or the “check engine” or “coolant” warning lights appear on your dashboard, the water pump might be failing.
If you're experiencing any of these symptoms, it’s essential to have your water pump inspected and replaced if necessary. Contact us today to schedule a thorough inspection!
