    I had an excellent experience with National Car Rental at Tampa International Airport. The Emerald Isle offered a wide selection of vehicles, making it easy to find the right fit, and the pricing was very competitive. The entire process was smooth from start to finish and the employees at both check-in and checkout were quick, professional, and courteous. Their efficiency and friendly service made the rental process stress-free and enjoyable. Overall, I was very satisfied and would gladly rent from National again

    I have always been pleased with National in the past but had a horrible experience with my recent 2-week rental from the Tampa Airport in Florida. The car got towed from a private lot in Sarasota. Communication with the tow company and National indicated that a Florida law required the "owner" of the car (National) to provide a waiver to allow me to pick up the car from the tow lot. National was familiar with this and indicated that the waiver would be sent. We were prepared to go and pay a fee to recover the vehicle. Three days later, with several calls each day, and many emails with various individuals, still no waiver and no car. The towing company called us to say that National had contacted THEM and was coming to pick up the car. My husband Uber-ed to the towing company to claim our private property from the vehicle before it went ??? We were finally told by a Customer Service rep that we should go to the Sarasota National rental and book another car, that we would be comped for the days we hadn't been able to use the car, and that we should ask for compensation for all of our troubles. In each interaction the representatives were polite and seemed to indicate that everything would be taken care of - but even after BEGGING in emails to PLEASE have someone call us to let us know what was going on and what we should do - NO ONE PHONED and we had no car for 3.5 days. When we returned the second rental to Tampa on Nov 17, the rep comped us for several days and indicated that management would reach out to us to address the additional request for compensation for Ubers and time / aggravation. STILL NO ONE HAS REACHED OUT. You have my info. Case #49645839. PLEASE CALL AND RESOLVE. Do not write me your apologies in Google.

    This National Car Rental location is by far the friendliest I’ve ever encountered. We arrived extremely late on a Friday evening, due to multiple flight delays, to discover the lot completely empty, with no cars available because of a government shutdown that had occurred earlier that day. Many customers had kept their rentals since flights were being canceled. Despite these challenges, the staff went above and beyond to care for their customers, and it truly shows. The only vehicle available was a 12- or 15-passenger van, which we had to borrow for the duration of the night. The next day, we returned to secure a full-size SUV —and succeeded. To make up for the inconvenience, they even gave us a discount, which we greatly appreciated. The customer service we received from all of the staff in the garage were exceptional. - Thank you!

    This was an unexpected rental for me. My mother died unexpectedly on 3-November while my family was in Tampa for an extended family wedding. I chose to drive to Mississippi instead of fly. The app was very easy to use to rent quickly from Tampa. Also, the Tampa National team was very helpful, recognizing I needed things to be easy as I had learned my mother died only a few hours before renting in Tampa. I extend the rental because of the funeral arrangements, and that was also very easy to do. I turned in the rental finally at the Huntsville Alabama airport. The HSV team was also great, and the drop-off simple. This is an example of you never know how much being nice and helpful to someone could mean when you are not walking in their shoes that day.

    Normally an awesome experience at the SDF National, checkout this time was terrible. It started when I thought I pulled up to an empty booth but the attendant was ducked down behind the desk and thought this was funny when I had waited there for a bit. Turns out, I had booked my reservation for the wrong airport. I immediately deleted it and did a new one while in line (two cars pulling in behind me) and instead of checking for a new reservation, the attendant was unwilling to help, rude and backed everyone up, and had me pull to the back to speak with a manager. She of course pulled it right up and offered me free gas for my trouble. Wrote it on a card and asked me to present it to the checkout clerk. Same guy. When I handed it to him he said he didn’t need it. I had to tell him his boss told me to give it to him before he would take it. I told him this was a terrible experience and he told me to have a reservation next time. I told him helping people is a choice. You can be pleasant and helpful or you can be, well, you. Terrible experience at an otherwise wonderful place. Mia was the saving grace.
