I had a terrible experience with Honda of Port Richey and would warn anyone with credit concerns to be extremely cautious. After being denied at two other dealers, I called here and was told my score wouldn't be an issue. We drove an hour to get there, only to be told I needed a "significant" down payment for both new and used cars.
I eventually found a 2020 Pilot LX for $13k on their site that fit my budget. The salesperson initially told me I’d need $10k down for it (which makes no sense) and tried to push a $20k Jeep on me instead. After I refused the Jeep, they called me back claiming I was "approved" for the Pilot and to come finish paperwork.
We cleared our schedules and drove another hour back. When we arrived, they didn't even show me the car we discussed. Instead, they tried to bait-and-switch me into a 2021 model for $25k—well over my budget. It felt like a classic "bait and switch" tactic to get me in the door just to cross-sell a more expensive unit. Total lack of transparency and a complete waste of my family's time.
I strongly recommend that anyone considering this place check the one-star reviews first before heading there. You will see that these stories of being misguided and lied to are common. Don't waste your gas like I did.
Thank you to the team at Honda of Port Richey—I am absolutely in love with my new Pilot! From start to finish, the entire experience was seamless and positive. Our salesman, Henry C., was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. I wanted to test drive two different models, and during our test drives, he gave me so much useful info and answered all my questions. I also want to thank his manager (so sorry I missed his name in the excitement!), who got our trade-in value and monthly payments right in the ballpark of where my husband wanted them to be.
Josh in finance was a total pleasure to work with; he’s very personable and actually made the paperwork process enjoyable! I walked away extremely happy to be a first-time Honda owner! I even returned the next day for window tinting, and the technician did a fantastic job. I’ve already received so many compliments on how sharp the car looks!

I would never recommend this dealership to even a stranger. We agreed upon a price over two days and discussed repeatedly we did not want any add ons to our Lease. They would not budge on the Premium Protection Package stating it is included when their dealership orders the vehicle despite them getting the vehicle from another dealership for me because they did not have the trim level I wanted. READ YOUR CONTRACTS LINE BY LINE IN FINANCING! Learn from my mistake and trusting personality, we did not scrutinize each line during financing and they added in a Honda Care Warranty, Windshield Protection, Total Loss Protection, Appearance Package, and Antitheft without our informed consent. I even questioned the Finance manager during signing about the “warranty” because I saw a dollar amount of $875 on the paper and he said it was a “standard warranty”. There’s nothing standard about charging an additional $875 to the customer. Unfortunate for us we didn’t catch all this during signing and only 2 of 5 add ons are cancelable. $5800+ in add ons is a heart wrenching life lesson. I will not being working with any Morgan Auto Group for my purchasing or maintenance needs.
Edit to add: Management at Honda of Port Richey has reached out for resolution. We have agreed upon a rectification.
We are highly disappointed in our experience with Honda Port Richey. First off, they lied online about the price of the vehicle. When we arrived, the vehicle was priced $4200 higher than it was online. I should have walked away then. After going back and forth with the salesman, we got down to the online price and agreed to pay $1000 for their “Premium Protection Plus” package. What was not shared with us was the fact that that package “comes with” an additional $1430 “Appearance Protection Package” and a $1300 “Windshield Protection.” They also slid in a $1000 “Total Loss Protection.” Everything was verbalized except those 3 charges, two of which are non-refundable. We were in there late and with our 3 year old over an hour away from home. We were tricked and taken advantage of, and this negative review is just the beginning.
Update:
The director of finance reached out and agreed to remove the superfluous charges from our loan. Moving from one star to three.
I really don't like giving negative reviews, but when it concerns a vehicle that you just bought and paying $60,000. it's a major concern; well, I purchased 2025 Honda Pilot exl I wanted to install the roof rails that I bought the cost was about $400.00. I called Honda of new port Richey because that was the dealership that I bought the SUV from. They told me that they would install it for me for $220.00 I said OK they made the appointment I went they installed, it was the worst installment I have ever seen, the tech Vinny sent me a video stating that the installment went well , when I got home to look at the job the tech cut the trimming short on the back passenger side the trimming in the front driver side was bent and He scratched the roof , I called Mason Vazzano who was supposed to be my service adviser he said to bring it back and they will take care of the issues , okay so I did . They fixed the roof rail and only touched up the scratch I could of touched up the paint at home, so I called him back and advised him that I wanted the scratch fixed. Mr.Vazzano stated that they would have to send it to a body shop I said OKAY. I asked him that I needed a loaner vehicle because I have no other vehicle to take me back home He said that they don't have a loaner right now ,so I told him when will they have loaner he said as soon as one comes in , now what dealership does not have loaners this was back in November 29 2025 now its Dec 30 2025 it's been a month now and still waiting, really Honda Of new port Richey , now I have to contact the manufacture customer care and file a complaint with the state Bureau of automotive repair
