  My experience with Gunther VW/Volvo in Del Ray has been very disappointing. Once you drive off the property you’re on your own. Financial personnel is phenomenal and the secretary makes awesome coffee but the salesperson will tell you anything to get you to purchase a vehicle but catch amnesia when you need to require repairs after communication the outage before purchasing the vehicle. I recommend that you do not use this vehicle property.

  Women beware. Do not come here alone if you expect to be taken seriously. I’m currently in the market for an XC40 and initially contacted Matt after seeing a great advertised deal on a 2025 XC60. When I asked about leasing it, he told me he didn’t know the offers because it was a 2025. Odd, but fine. I told him I’d still like to come in and test drive both the XC60 and an XC40, and I even shared a competitor’s XC40 quote ahead of time. When I arrived, Matt greeted me briefly and immediately handed me off to Curtis — and that was the last I saw of Matt. Curtis then informed me that the 2025 XC60 I had inquired about wasn’t available to lease at all. That would have been helpful information before I came in, but okay. I requested to test drive the XC40. We did, and it’s a great car. After the drive, I asked Curtis to send me lease numbers. Since the vehicle we drove was a loaner with miles, I reasonably expected numbers different from a brand-new lease. Curtis said he’d check with “someone” and get back to me. That was at 3:50 PM. I heard nothing. I texted Matt at 6:29 PM asking for the numbers — no response. I texted again at 7:47 PM, and only then did he reply saying he’d talk to Curtis and asked what monthly payment I was trying to be at. At that point, it was clear I wasn’t being taken seriously. I showed up, test drove, shared competitor pricing, and asked for numbers — and instead of a quote, I was met with delays, deflection, and games. I can only assume that because I’m a woman and came in alone, they didn’t view me as a serious buyer. This experience was unprofessional and frustrating, and they clearly didn’t want my business. Women: be cautious. Based on my experience, you may not be taken seriously here.

  I leased a VW Taos from Gunther Volkswagen on December 24th, I negotiated the deal over the phone with the help of Stephen, who is an amazing salesman, no games, no time wasted, we were able to negotiate in a friendly and nice manner. When we agreed on the payment, he drove the car to my house which is almost 100 miles from the dealership! He took his time explaining all the features on the new car. The car was delivered impecable. They also took care of the return of the previous lease.

  12.23.2025 Update: I was informed that my account was paid off on 12.19.2025 however the finance company has not received payment. I had to make monthly payment on the car I turned in to Gunther a MONTH ago to avoid credit mark on my credit report. I’m again being sent to voicemails with no response and no proof of payment. My experience with this dealership has not been what you’d expect from the Volvo store. Zero stars for the treatment we received and still dealing with AFTER the sale. We traded in a leased vehicle and they have not yet paid it off, it’s been a month , and we are receiving delinquency notices and calls from the financing company daily. Gunther Volvo has been impossible to reach to get an answer on the payoff status. My sales person Curtiss and their customer experience director Naem Smith are not answering calls or texts, we had to go back to the dealership in person and still there was no competent person who can provide a clear answer on the payoff status. The sales manager did not bother to come out to speak to us neither did our sales person. The Volvo corporate is going to be made aware of this.
