  Was charged $17 for parking after spending *$450.00* at Safeway, where validated parking for this garage was supposed to be free within 90 minutes. There is NO prorating or in between and NO exceptions. This is ridiculous and predatory. I finished my shopping in less than 90 minutes, but still had to wait at least 10 minutes in the only line available to me to cash out with a human, another 10 minutes getting rung up, then taking the slow elevator down to my car, loading it up, and putting the cart away. I was shocked when I saw the $17 charge after I validated, not realizing I had just missed the cutoff. The parking attendant looked at my ticket and told me I was “a few minutes late” and refused to do anything. This is INSANE and extremely PREDATORY. You’re punishing people for spending more money? This is a problem with both Safeway and the garage. Have more registers manned so we can get out quicker. Have a better arrangement with the garage - 2 hours, or at least prorate any extra time, or empower the attendants to let you out if you’re just within a couple minutes. If you doubt we actually spent this much time buying groceries, we can literally bring receipts. So many ways you could make this make sense. This is absolutely ridiculous. I’m never coming back here again. I don’t care if fire is raining from the sky and running into that garage is my only shelter. SHAME ON YOU.

  Avoid parking here! I booked this parking garage through ParkWhiz. The garage information on ParkWhiz stated that the garage was not open during the nighttime hours of 12am to 6am. I booked the garage to park for a Nats game that would be over by midnight. I returned to the garage at approximately 11:15pm to find that all internal access ways (Safeyway and CVS) we locked. Additionally, the physical garage door was closed. There was a placard with a number to call to gain entry, but there was also a $50 fee. A large group of people from the game were gathering as no one could gain entry to the garage. Eventually a wonderful man who was attending the game happened to also work in the adjacent building. Security let him enter through the internal stairwell. When he exited the garage, the large group of people ran down the driveway ramp. This was extremely unsafe. I would highly recommend you find another garage so that your car is not held hostage. There are many other comparable garages that will let you access your vehicle during posted hours. Will never book with ParkWhiz or SP+ Parking again.

  Do not park here for DC United games. It took me 30 minutes to get out of the garage and I wasn't that far from the front of the line. The machine wasn't working properly and there was only one attendant working both gates. Rather than let 7 or 8 cars out each time he was taking notes on each ticket. There had to be people behind me that waited over an hour to get out of the garage. Never again.

  Horrible parking. Don’t park here, and do go shooing at safeway. I just spent 2 hours shopping for Thanksgiving and because I went over the 90 minutes allotted for free parking(which isn’t easily visible until you go to the pay station), they charge you $25. That is crazy! That is NYC/Manhattan type fees. And when you want to speak to an employee they don’t speak at all. They look away and ignore you. Do not park here and avoid all SP+ Parking facilities.
