I have had repeated issues with the Camping World in Fountain, Colorado since I purchased a used camper in March, 2025. I am very disappointed that they don’t seem to verify all work is completed before a scheduled pick up and I have to show them issues with their work that need to be fixed.
The initial purchase went smoothly but the service department didn’t complete work correctly and lost orders repeatedly. The department is disorganized, uncommunicative, takes weeks to complete work, doesn’t appear to have a final check after work is completed and didn’t replace all parts. They don’t return calls and will only let you talk to your “assigned’ service rep. When you call they either forward you to the rep’s voicemail or take a message. The rep’s never indicated they got the messages though.
At my last visit in September, they must have removed the underbelly panels as I am missing the front panel and the other ones didn’t have all the screws so they came loose during my next trip when I drove over 380 miles before stopping. The middle cover was hanging down loose when I arrived. The loose cover could have had catastrophic consequences if it had come off while driving. I was able to secure the 2 covers using screws that had been left in the wood supports. Normally I would return to the company that was contracted for the work to reinstall the missing panel but because of the multiple issues I’ve had with the Fountain Colorado Camping World Service Center, I don’t think I can trust them to do the work correctly.
Here’s a summary of my experiences with them from March through September, 2025.
I purchased the trailer in March with several upgrades. Install took over 3 weeks but a sway bar hitch order was lost so I had to leave it with them. They contacted me 4 weeks later and was told install takes 1-2 hours. Install took almost 4 hours while I had to wait.
After a couple of trips I had issues with the heater setting off the fire alarm, awning not closing securely, control panel display issues and the regulator hose on the propane tank rubbing on the cover. It took them 4 weeks to work on these and when I arrived for my 4pm appointment I had to wait over 45 minutes for the camper.
Tech said there weren’t any issues with the awning but I had another dealer check and they explained a known issue with those awnings and explained how to deal with it.
The Control Panel incorrectly showed gray and black water still in tank after going to a dump station and flushing the black tank with the clean out connection. Tech couldn’t duplicate and I only used it one more time before winterizing so will have to monitor this.
The propane tank regulator hose rubbed on the tank access panel at the top. Service rep suggested I purchase a sideways regulator to solve the problem. Tech installed regulator vertically, the regulator hose was missing, needed an adaptor and the tank cover was missing the access cover. The installation made the situation worse as now I couldn’t even put the access panel on the tank cover.
When I picked up the camper, the yard person took it to the street and disconnected before I could get blocks out for the lift so I wasn’t able to get my hitch under it. A tech was supposed to review the braking system but after 10 minutes I had to go back in. I also noticed the tank cover access panel was missing. I told the rep about the missing access panel cover, that I was unable to hook up and no one arrived to review the braking system.
At this point I had been there for over an hour and I told the rep I had plans I would have to change. I was told having a pick up time didn’t mean the camper would be ready so I shouldn’t have made any other plans. Instead I was told I should have gotten an earlier pick up time.
They gave me a tank access cover and got the yardman back to help lift the hitch. This is when the issue with the regulator was discovered which took another 30 minutes to fix. I finally left at 6pm.

We really enjoyed working with smitty in the process of purchasing our trailer. He was very helpful, and was willing to go above and beyond to help us get the perfect fit.
The disappointment was tracy in service!! We took the trailer in over a month ago and are still waiting to hear what is going on with the repairs. She does not keep you updated on repairs and trying to get ahold of her is impossible. The sad part of customer service is they do not try to help you find out what is going on with your unit.

The absolute worst experience ever… from delivery to finding things wrong with the unit, up until today still not fixed or parts on order.
Buyer beware if you take your camper here for repairs you won’t see it for months, poor customer service very poor service department… this all stems from Camping World in Golden.
NO COMMUNICATION, they make promises after the sale to take care of your unit and almost 65 days later still have the RV that should have never been driven off the lot and should be LEMONED … nothing but hard attitude towards us… GM ON DOWN! The unit was a 2025 Forrest River Georgetown…

Was excited to find a used as is 2020 coachman motorhome. Looked amazing. As service did the needed upgrades they demanded I finalize paperwork before it was dewinterized. They seemed legit so I agreed. I made them note on their paperwork that they never showed me the hot water heater working or the tanks are working properly!
They go over the basics and insist my new heating coil on the AC is working but I requested to verify and it didn't! Tech had to rewire the thermostat on the spot. Fine no big deal. Then I again request to verify water heater and tanks hold water.
The excuse this time is that it'll take 30 min for the water heater to warm up so just check it later when I hook it up. Like an idiot I trusted the tech. Low and behold the fresh water tank is CRACKED! VALVE TO FILL SEEMS BROKEN. WATER LEAKING EVERYWHERE OUTSIDE!
NEEDLESS TO SAY I'M NOT HAPPY AT ALL.
If you dewinterized and are sure all is working, why wouldn't you fill the fresh water tank to show the customer all is well unless you have something to hide?
I'm sure they will not fix the issue since they emphasized it's as is sale. So instead of enjoying my new Motorhome. I need to get huge estimates to fix the partial lemon I bought. Thank you very much! 😔

Stay away! Brent is dishonest. He will make promises and not honor them. Then failed to appropriately assess the damage to my camper.
I’m waiting for a profession assessment from a better company right now. I’ll update this then. I don’t know for sure, but based on Brent’s comments and the quote for the repair, they never really liked at the camper. I’ve heard from others that they throw a number out to get you to bite, then keep making it go up once you’re in deep. Mine was an insurance claim. I know for sure (because I’ve maintained this camper for years) that the hail damage was extensive. The quote he gave without any documentation was twice the amount I got to replace a small plastic gear in the vent fan a few weeks ago ( $7 part, 5 ish for shipping, I installed myself in 20 minutes or so And was quoted by 2 places at $400-700 ) for the repair. Currently, my Camper is beat down by hail and there are obvious big holes in all the plastic fittings on top of the roof, on the awning, on the paint on the flat part of the roof on and on, and this guy said they were able to fix it all for $1200 and that’s just simply unrealistic. I’m not sure what his game is but wow. First, he says he will waive the deductible- he wants the work. then he says we don’t waive the deductible because it’s not gonna cost that much to fix it and then I say oh it’s pretty cheap to fix that roof that’s got all the damage? he then says he didn’t really look at the roof in fact, he personally hadn’t looked at the camper at all, but a technician may or may not have looked at the roof. He’d get back with me. I asked that he not send a bogus insufficient claim over to my insurance company until he had a professional documented assessment of the damages and the cost to repair it, but he sent it anyway.
Lucky for me I worked with Shelly because Brent wasn’t there and everything worked out. She’s the greatest ! they should promote her. They should have her train all those good old boys and stop taking advantage of people. She is the type of person that will take their business to the next level and they would never have to worry about any competition if people like Shelly were running the place but with these good old boys doing it Run run run run away from there. Once I receive the next estimate, I will update this post. My guess is it’s gotta be more than $6000 worth of damage.
I think he just wanted me to agree to pay the deductible and agree for me to authorize the work and bill insurance, and I think they were gonna take that $1200 and increase it and increase it and increase it all the live long day but that’s just my guess. I have no real idea what he was thinking, and because he refused to call me or my wife back, we’ll never know.
