QuikTrip’s famous fountain is always guaranteed to quench your thirst, with more than 30 flavors of soda and tea, not to mention our frozen drinks like Freezoni® and Smoothies! And don’t forget our wide selection of Grab & Go items, including all beef hot dogs and taquitos, breakfast sandwiches, subs, salads, wraps, and donuts. The fountain drinks were actually the best ones we have tried in a while as the syrups were not weak compared to other locations. However, the issue we had was with the ice dispensers. When my husband pushed the ice dispenser lever with his cup, there was no tension. It gave the impression it was not functioning. While this was occurring, an employee by the name of Luis was replacing the trash bin liners by the straws and lids area. My husband alerted him as a courtesy that the ice dispenser lever was not functioning. Luis stood up and rolled his eyes. We both stood there and my husband repeated his statement with more detail so Luis would know that he was legitimate with what he was saying. Luis then walked over, and with his contaminated hands, pushed on the lever repeatedly to confirm what we were saying. He told us “The machine must be out of ice” in an agitated way, to which my husband replied that it’s not about the ice but the lever itself. At this point, Luis went back to work on the trash while my husband let out a slow “okay” and returned to filling his cup with some tea. Luis then stood up then turned to me and gave me a “well, what are you gonna say to me” look with full attitude. I looked at my husband and we both decided with our eyes to leave and we walked away to pay for our drinks. Thankfully Ruffles (Luis’ new nickname christened by me due to the amount of chips on his shoulder) did not check us out, but rather Stefan did. Stefan was the total opposite of Luis, as he greeted us warmly. He asked if this was everything we needed and if our drinks were new or refills. He thanked us for coming in and gave us a smile. He was the saving grace of our visit, and the reason we gave three stars instead of one.
