** 3 Stars are for: **
- Signed up for MyPace, savings were phenomenal! I hadn't heard of the program prior to appointment. Was excited, as my mileage is low per year and would save almost 1/2 of my previous rate. Perfect!! .... THEN:
- Did my research, after signing up for the program, MyPace device that you plug into your car for the program. The device runs constantly, even when parked, with low mileage - parked a lot - so, the reviews on device point to dead batteries & sometimes electrical issues. Which are not covered & are at the cost to vehicle owner. Living in Alberta, winters are brutal on batteries. And costly. Not for me.
The MyPace policy was to start November 1/25. After alot of thought and back & forth in my mind, I decided to cancel MyPace and just take the hit with regular policy. Buying new batteries would not be a savings in the end. And no peace of mind.
I had paid a deposit for the first policy. $228. When I cancelled the first policy, I am only getting reimbursed $59 of the $228. Ouch!!! I was unaware that would happen, especially since the start date isn't until November 1/25.
With insurance so high, (rates no longer go down with vehicle depreciation), cost of living so high, it pains me that companies hit you where it hurts. $
Do the research prior to signing on the dotted line. My advice. I wish I had.
***Edit***
In response to management. Here's a little breakdown of things:
- they ship you device WAY too early - a month! (Then the emails and texts to plug it in ASAP)
- There is a charge (see below) for device. You cannot return device period, even unopened and unused. $$
+ $228 - auto insurance policy fees
+ $64 - home policy fees
+ 5% a month for payment plan
+ $179 - membership
Seems like alot of admin fees for having a membership. Will be shopping around for next year.
