The theater experience there was GREAT! No loud talking OR loud cell phone usage. The waitstaff was excellent and the food was good also. The overall experience was MORE than satisfying. đŸ‘đŸŸđŸ‘ŒđŸŸđŸ˜Š

Great place to see a movie. The food is average, at best. You're better served eating elsewhere.

The movie-watching experience at Movie Tavern was actually pretty good. The chairs were comfortable, the sightlines were solid, and it was easy to relax and get into the film. As a place to sit back and watch a movie, it definitely works. That said, the building itself looked a little run down, and it’s hard to tell if much money has been put into updates since its original construction. Some of the finishes and fixtures feel dated and worn. It doesn’t ruin the experience, but it does give the place a slightly tired vibe. The real disappointment was the food quality, which was atrocious, even by typical movie theater standards. Most of what’s served feels like heated frozen food, and calling that “serving food” is a stretch. When you’re paying premium prices on top of your ticket, it’s frustrating to receive something that tastes like it came straight from a freezer box. On top of that, the combination of poor-quality food and long wait times is just a concept that shouldn’t be allowed to continue. You end up missing chunks of the movie or dealing with servers moving around, and the final product isn’t worth the interruption. Movie theaters leaning into full-service dining really need to step up the quality if they want the idea to make sense. One bright spot was the bar, which was actually enjoyable and a nice option before the film. Between that and the classic popcorn, there are still good reasons to visit. My suggestion would be for Movie Tavern to stick to what works—drinks, popcorn, and snacks—and rethink the rest of the menu if they want to keep offering “dinner and a movie” as a real value.

Very poor experience when it comes to food and service, making it the worst theater I've been to. Arrived at the theater and informed food was only served in the screening room. You are not allowed to buy things at the booth, even if the food is right there. Ok fine, I'll just do it as they want to, even though it's strange it's not a big deal. Sit down at my seat and the button used to order does not work. Try another button, it works but no one arrives for 5 minutes. Leave the room and once again try to order at the booth, not allowed. Very little staff, and the few that are there walking around aimlessly and not helping. Happened to run into a "server" who began to take my "order" which was just popcorn. But she could not confirm when it would actually arrive at my seat, and also mentioned that people would be taking orders throughout the screening, which to me seems like would lead to a ridiculous amount of interruption. All I wanted was to give her money and receive my popcorn in exchange, which was not allowed even when the order was right in front of us and I could literally just pay and receive it right there. So after all that, I left so to not waste any more time or spend money on low quality. Only positive aspect was quickly securing refund and the lady laughing when I told her why it was pointless to watch a movie here. This is a dumb concept for a theater, but regardless even if others enjoy it the service should be much better to give it any chance of working.
