It’s time to grab your cowboy boots and hat (optional, as not necessary, but adds to the fun meter) and be entertained at the Garwood Arena.
Our indoor equestrian arena hosts events that the whole family will enjoy, from rodeos to horse shows—here in the heart of Ohio.
Watch bull riding, steer wrestling and barrel racing at the rodeos that come to town during the winter months. Children can participate in mutton busting, and ride the sheep, before the show to experience what it feels like to be a rodeo star!
You can also view different horse breeds and equestrian disciplines compete in our horse arena as numerous equestrian associations, such as the Ohio Quarter Horse and others from across the country, rent our arena for events year-round.
Originally built to be Garwood Cattle Company’s calving barn on 200 acres in Columbiana—located between Cleveland and Pittsburgh—the space evolved to become one of Ohio’s best equestrian arenas and rodeo arenas. Here you can participate in shows or just watch for entertainment. The 150-foot-by-320-foot main arena is flanked by warm-up arenas, viewing lounges, show offices and more than 600 permanent stalls in the indoor equine arena. Plus, a restaurant on-site where you can grab a meal, snacks or ice cream while watching the shows.

We came for a rodeo. It's like the rodeo at my state fair. My son got really sick bc there's no fresh air inside the arena.

We visited Garwood Arena for the first time this past weekend, and the experience was excellent! It was a perfect family outing, and we were thoroughly impressed with the facility and the rodeo.
The fact that the rodeo is indoor and, even better, heated, made a huge difference for a weekend event. It was comfortable and enjoyable without having to worry about the weather outside. There was also plenty of bleacher seating available, offering great views of all the action.
Unlike some reviews I had read, I found the food to be fairly priced. For dinner for two adults, one kid, three drinks, and some candy, the total was just under $50, which felt very reasonable for a family of three at an event venue. The value certainly added to the overall positive experience.
My only piece of constructive criticism, which I hope the venue considers, is that the acoustics in the building are poor. It was genuinely very hard to understand the announcers throughout the night. Improving the sound system and clarity would make a massive difference in following the events and appreciating the commentary.
Overall, this was a fantastic experience, and we are already looking forward to our next visit! Highly recommended for families looking for a fun and comfortable weekend event.
