Theater built during the great depression, with late stage capitalism pricing and terrible seating. I'd passed this theater plenty of times and thought it looked cool and thought maybe i'd see a movie there soon. So last week my girlfriend and i went to go see marty supreme (great movie btw). Before movies we usually get a soda and a popcorn. The biggest size was the size of a medium at chain theaters but somehow far more expensive. and the drinks were straight up criminally priced. a water somehow costs more than a large soda. again, more than chain theaters. Whatever it's manhattan and things are expensive (to that point is absolutely absurd). Also the ticket prices were at least $5 more each than regal or AMC. I just figured if it was that expensive you must be paying for a very comfortable experience. I was so far off. I'll preface this by saying i'm not a large dude, 165lbs, 5'8". Those seats were tiny. you could not put yourself and both of your arms to your sides. They do not recline at all, and the aisle was extremely narrow. Trying to sneak by others to run to the bathroom felt like i was personally invading each and every persons space. Now Im not sure why the tickets and concessions are so high, because it does not reflect in the comfort or experience. But maybe you can tell me. 2 stars because the screen and the sound of the movie looked and sounded pretty nice.

It breaks my heart to give a bad review to one of my favorite movie theaters, but it is what it is. They don't have tap to pay functionality and you have to pay with the physical card. You might think - ok, I will buy a ticket online and I will order food online. Guess what? You can order food online only if your movie starts after 2pm.

I enjoy the cinema but can’t get over how expensive the concession stand is. 8 dollars for a bottle of water is crazy.

Insultingly small water cups, even for a theater. The heat was out in our theater too and the seats are surprisingly narrow (even for a vintage theater!). Would all be fine if it was a normal price. 22 dollars? Ridiculous.

Great theater but the girl at the concessions stand was obviously very sick with a cold or the flu. She was sniffling a lot and then wiping snot on her sleeve while serving customers. She could barely speak. I decided to skip the popcorn. Go home girl. Gross.
