  Why on earth do we have to sit next to strangers, when the theater is empty, in assigned seats? 13 people in the theater and we are all together, beside each other. Why?

  My favorite theater in NJ, by far. I used to work at an AMC, so I can usually suss out how well a place is being run pretty quickly, and here, it’s immediately clear that things are top-notch. Very happy and attentive employees are always a sign of excellent management, and that’s exactly what you see at this theater. They consistently offer a wide selection of movies: children’s films, crowd-pleasers, art-house titles, and international releases. The seats and projectors are the best I’ve ever seen, and I always make a point of trying new theaters since it’s one of my happy places. Reading through the negative reviews honestly amuses me, because most of them come from people violating policies and then getting upset for being held accountable. And sure, movie theaters can be messy sometimes, but have you ever cleaned up seven to ten theaters an hour on a Saturday rush with two or three huge blockbusters opening and multiple callouts? It’s like riding a motorcycle; given enough time, it’s not a matter of if you’ll have a spill, but when. The truth is, theaters handle incredibly high volumes of foot traffic. You simply can’t expect a family-friendly environment to be spotless every second of the day. Even so, compared to other local theaters, this one is easily the cleanest. Only small art-deco theaters in quiet towns that do two to four shows a night are tidier. This place is more like a theme park in terms of how exceptional its amenities are, so expecting the same level of cleanliness as an opera house or museum is just unrealistic. I come here often, whether solo and low-key or with a group of friends, and it’s always a blast. The people who work here remember you; you actually become friends with them. What more could you ask for?
