- BFBrad FletcherJan 2, 20262.0We played the escape from Alcatraz game. My wife and I have done about 15 escape rooms in various states in the US. This room didn’t live up to our expectations. There is no ceiling to the room which really takes away from the feeling of immersion. The props in the room were cheap and basic. The wardens desk looked like it came from an elementary school. It looked like someone tried to make an escape room in their basement with a budget of $100. Also we are used to having a good amount of puzzle variety including electronic puzzles. This room only had various combo and key locks. It also only had one room. The majority of escape rooms we have done have a hidden door that opens to the second part of the puzzle. This was about a 15 by 15 room with limited theming and no second or third room to discover. Finally, the props look worn and the paint doesn’t look fresh. Even the props to take photos with were old and worn.

The rooms are bare and we’re not similar to other rooms where you feel more immersed in the theme. The clues were okay. They all involved figuring out the combination to various locks.
